‘Giant killer’ Suvendu leads race for Bengal leader of opposition | India News


Kolkata: The pressure is mounting Suvendu Officer, Who is among the runners in the race for Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. He is credited with winning the title Nandigram Meeting, the center of the battle for Bengal.
Bengal BJP Leaders believe that CM Mamata Banerjee Suvendu has been targeted for demanding repeat of votes after Nindigram Election Commission Declared them winners. The EC website shows that Suvendu defeated Banerjee by a margin of 1,956 votes.
“The chief minister is independent in running the court. The fact is that the people of Nandigram have given the verdict, ”the Bengal BJP chief said Dilip Ghosh. The bitterness of the attitude by both camps is indicative of how things are flooding the legislature in the coming days.
The ground zero situation in Nandigram has escalated sectarian tensions in the area by escalating nerve fighting at the party level. According to BJP insiders, Suvendu deserves to be the Leader of the Opposition as he has emerged as a “giant killer” in the polls.
Pointing out that “the Leader of the Opposition enjoys the post of minister”, a BJP leader said that the status of LOP could protect Suvendu from “unnecessary torture”.
