India reports 3.57 lakh new Covid-19 cases, 3,449 deaths | India News

New Delhi: India on Tuesday morning informed the Union Health Ministry that it had slightly reduced the number of Kovid-19 cases as it had registered 3,57,229 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours. With this, the cumulative count of cases has reached 2,02,82,833.
On May 1, the daily spike peaked at more than four lakh cases but fell to 3,68,147 yesterday.
In the last 24 hours, 3,449 people in the country fell victim to the disease, bringing the death toll to 2,22,408. According to government figures, there are currently 34,47,133 active cases of Kovid-19 in the country.
The country also witnessed 3,20,289 recoveries during the period, bringing the total to Rs. 1,66,13,292.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 29,33,10,779 samples have been tested for Covid-19 till May 3, of which 16,63,742 samples were tested on Monday.
The total number of doses of the Covid-19 vaccine is more than 15,89,32,921, the health ministry said.
India is currently working on another devastating Covid-19 wave that has crippled the country’s health infrastructure and further crushed medical personnel.
