Film actor Kamal Haasan contested the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections from Coimbatore South constituency. Makkal Suidhi Maim (MNM), the founder of the political party, lost the battle when the votes were counted on May 2.
Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti Haasan shared a message for her father on social media after the election results were announced on Sunday. Posting a picture of Haasan with a torch, Shruti wrote, with the hashtags ‘Fighter’ and ‘Terminator’, ‘Always proud of my dad.’
On Sunday, Kamal Haasan was ahead in the early stages when the counting began, but later BJP’s Vanathi Srinivasan left him behind and eventually won the election by 1,500 votes. Haasan’s defeat in his first political battle also failed to open an MNM account in Tamil Nadu.
In the meantime, on the work front, Haasan will look forward Indian 2.
